NSC is committed towards ecological balance and is a forerunner in mining  in Uttarakhand region in setting policies and procedures for environment protection and rehabilitation. Mine planning and ore extraction factors are given high importance to minimize hazards and environmental risks. Standardized practices are followed to minimize the impact of the mining operations in the local environment. Reclamation is done by converting the mined zones into green belts with plants and trees. These green belts provide safe havens to the local flora and fauna thereby maintaining the ecological balance.

The company operates with clearance and certifications from Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India and State Government of Uttarakhand. NSC also regularly files the compliance with the local, national and international environmental norms and conservation policies with the concerned departments of Government of India.
